Speech therapy can help your child with:
Understanding others and communicating thoughts, wants, needs, and feelings
Using social language and social skills needed to engage in social situations like play, conversation, and friendship
The way we say spoken words, how well we are understood by others, and the skills needed for literacy and speech sound development
How easy we can speak; voice quality, pitch, and loudness; all the different ways we can communicate (e.g., gestures, body language, devices, writing)
Eating and drinking age-appropriate foods and drinks for adequate nutrition, mealtime routines and behaviors; safe swallowing and diet modification; skills that allow us to interact with others including problem solving, reasoning, and executive functioning skills (e.g., attention, planning, working memory, flexible thinking, metacognition)
Consult a SLP if you are concerned about any of these areas!
