A Speech-Language Pathologist can help your child grow and develop a wide range of skills including:
Expressive Language- communicating thoughts, wants, needs, feelings
Receptive Language- understanding others
Pragmatic Language- language and social skills needed to initiate, maintain, and engage in social situations like play and conversation for interpersonal relationships
Articulation- the way we say spoken words and how well we are understood by others
Phonological Awareness- skills needed for literacy and speech sound development
Feeding- eating and drinking age-appropriate foods and drinks for adequate nutrition, mealtime routines and behaviors
Swallowing- oral and pharyngeal phases of a swallow, safe swallowing positioning, diet modification
Fluency- stuttering and ease of spoken speech
